I came across an opportunity to by some significant Custom Framing assets from a retiring successful and experience business owner.  And I did! And right before my trip to Colorado and the planned Route 66 trip back, but I’ll work that out. So I hired a local moving company and we will move the assets into a storage unit on May 9th. I think getting a full retail space and warehouse is a bit premature so have an interim plan which is more appropriate. On the trip to Colorado, I am picking up a 2006 Nissan Xterra being gifted to my business. So all the Porsches will move into storage and probably long term hibernation. Next is the garage at the house will transform into frame cutting and assembly workshop (as well as glass storage and cutting) and thus no room for cars. I will keep the mat cutting and assembly at the 20x20 storage unit as well as the eBay inventory and shipping. The unit I have with 2 cars and current workshop will basically be where I will store 2 cars and all the mould

I needed to upgrade my saw from a DeWalt Table saw with a jig I made to a DeWalt Miter Saw DWS713 (cheapest one they make I think). I went with the Logan F100-5 Framers Fence which has been recently discontinued but found a place that had one left on stock. I made the platform and put on a high table I got at auction for $10. Turned out pretty sweet and cuts are excellent. Update: I recently made a purchase of some framing specialized equipment which included a Frame Square Mitre Table Saw which proves perfect mitre cuts, but the DeWalt miter saw gets regular use for rough cuts and general woodworking. I have set a small side goal for myself to have a perfect record on all stats used in the eBay Top Rated Seller program and finally achieved it yesterday. What next? John

We went to the NC Art Museum and saw this picture and all I could think about was how similar these two guys ( Martin Luther and Philipp Melanchthon by Lucas Cranach the Younger) look like Beavis and Butt-Head. Perhaps the likeness Mike Judge wanted to emulate. Probably envisioned them as teenagers and went from there.  John

This is a picture I framed for some family members using a photo we took during our visit to Kristy Kreme.  This was my first use of Mylar strips to do object mounting.  I had a customer who wanted one of my 45 record frames from Etsy in metal. The challenge is that it is hard to meet the price point with quality aluminum frames. It happens I have a good bit of stock of precut aluminum frames and if I was able to cut them, I could meet the cost and profit margin goals. With the recently acquired Frame Square mitre saw, I loaded it up with a Diablo 80 tooth aluminum blade and was very pleased with the results and will be doing my own chops from now on.   This is an original Peter Max and will have 2 more coming as well in the same style. Since he had other frames we were working to get in the ballpark of the ones which were framed by Peter Max group (see last pict
