SecondMoonshot Warehouse Update #7

Image
Time to take the next step and moved into a warehouse at the beginning on October 2023. It is a conditioned 1875sqft metal building 5 minutes from my house with ample space to store vehicles, eBay inventory and shipping, and framing workshop. It is located in a nice section in Rolesville, NC and was able to get it at $1 per sqft. I am about 95% done with all the setup. Latest pics: Latest on 11/3/23 John

1986 Porsche 944 Turbo going to Hoy Auction mid-September 2023

Image
Auction is live! No reserve. While picking up a few items at the last Hoy Auction, ran into Jay and we discussed auctioning one of my Porsches. I need the space and opted to let the 944 go.  It’s an online auction and when live, you should see it listed here on Hibid . 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo VIN: WP0AA0954GN155745 2dr Coupe, 4-cyl. 2479cc/220hp Bosch FI Burgundy exterior and interior. Electric sunroof (works). True Mileage Unknown (TMU), although estimated between 160k - 170k assuming it was working continuous prior to latest ownership. Used as a daily driver for a few years after I spent a few years improving reliability. Purchased by latest owner in late 2018.  Binder of work done during current ownership is included, although no documentation prior. Clutch seems good and really hasn’t changed in feel or issues since ownership, timing belt was done recently prior to current owner taking ownership and was adjusted as part of initial inspection/work. Interior is reasonably good with so

Now Available - Custom Fabric-Covered Mats

Image
I am now offering a matting option for custom fabric-covered mats. I have a small selection of fabrics available and a much wider selection is available from Frank’s Fabrics . You can also bring your own fabric. If you do bring your own fabric, bring at a minimum a square which is 6” longer than the longest side of the anticipated mat (this would be same as the glass size). Call me if you need any help determining the size needed.   Fabric samples available. John

Fletcher 8400 Glass and Material Cutter - Put into Action with Custom Mobile Stand

Image
I have put most of the equipment from my big purchase of Framing equipment and supplies into use except for an Oval and Circle Cutter, a Chronomat Mat Cutter, and a Fletcher 8400 Series Glass and Material Cutter. The Oval and Circle Cutter will stay stored until I have a need for it, but not a commonly used piece of equipment.  The Chronomat Mat Cutter is a 48” variety and older. Logan bought either the company or the product and branded as their high-end professional grade Platinum Edge line. I bought a Platinum Edge 850 40” last year and just love it. I’ll keep the Chronomat in case I need the extra length and as a backup and some of the parts are interchangeable which could come in handy one day. The Fletcher 8400 Series Glass and Material Cutter is an older one but like so much framing equipment, age doesn’t really matter, mostly condition. It has enough extra cutters and blades to last beyond my need. I have been brainstorming how I can get it into use. The challenge is that my wo

SecondMoonshot Vision Statement

Image
Exceed customer expectations in Quality, Design and Value. Treat every object being framed as if it were priceless and irreplaceable. Always do the right thing. Carrie asked me “What do you mean by ‘Always do the right thing’?”. I think I mean to make good decisions which always have the customers and employees (when I get one) best interest in mind. Don’t try to defend one’s self if a customer isn’t satisfied, but focus on making it right. Be accountable to your actions and words.

SecondMoonshot Storage/Warehouse Update #6

Image
Things are all pretty much in place from the April acquisition.  These 6 pictures are where I keep moulding, Mat board and other supplies and less used tools. This unit is where I store 2 cars and where all the woodworking, cutting and joining takes place. The VacuSeal had to go into our garage due to power requirements. And last are pics of eBay storage and framing assembly unit.  I made a portable stand for the Fletcher 8400 Series glass and material cutter. John
