Yard Sale Day!



Well, the ultimate goal was accomplished. Make a couple people happy and clear out the attic. Done with only 1 trip to the donation center at the end of it. Even had a repeat customer from my first one last year and he brought his sister. Best part was the people we met. 
At 12 noon, every thing was free…that’s when it got fun.

Ok, admittedly I don’t get very many comments on the blog. But what gets me is this business of using blogger comments to put advertisements in them, what I am guessing to get the search bots to think they have more links that they really do in an attempt to get higher search rankings.  When I see them, I just delete them as I would rather have no comments then crappy comments. I suspect they are trying to trick the search engines to think they have links to all these sites and increase their search result ranking…go somewhere else please. Odds are if you have to resort to this type of gaming, you don’t have a quality product or service.  I now moderate all comments and will not approve any comments with URLs in them. Rant over. John

Estate Sale and Auction Picks: Auction of Raleigh, JMS Estate Sales and Artz Estate Sales

We had a small debate as to go to an Artz estate sale or to a JMS and decided the JMS would have more item to our profile (small, Asian, pictures, books, etc). I think we made the right call and ended up some some awesome finds and a Koto Digital Rice Cooker/Steamer for ourselves (actually, quite a bit more items for ourselves, but that’s another story). John as usual drove a hard negotiation and easily resolved, albeit mostly I think in my favor, but he knows his business and knows he will get more back in future dividends - Zabrina had us swing by Foster’s and pick up some Whopper’s cookies for the JMS crew. The calligraphy set was especially nice and the 2 Stetson hats were a pleasant surprise. This should keep me posting listings well into next week and maybe some of it can translate into the 1st of the month peak I normally see. Custom Picture Framing Portfolio - Volume #6

Here is the sixth volume of framing projects, a continuation of  Volume #5 .  For pricing estimation information, go  HERE . Some customer provided photos of our made-to-order specialty record and comic frames. Decided to reframe the “Corporation” poster. Completely reframed the Maxell Porsche Blown Away (original France) and took it to the next level. Wow. Found this great movie ad on eBay and decided to get creative on the mat. This was some bead art my daughter did recently and framed for her. I picked this Porsche poster up a while back on eBay as it had a vintage 9-1 Targa and will keep it with the car. This is 1 of a set of 3 which I did for a local artist friend. Pretty straight forward framing job I did for a local customer who needed it rush for Christmas.
